I finally did it.
After years of hearing other people talk about blogging conferences, I signed up for BlogHer 2013.
I’m really excited about the new things I will learn to improve my 3 blogs (this one, Arch City Homes, and my neighborhood association blog West Pine Laclede).
I’m also looking forward to spending time with some friends I met through social media, Robyn and Janice. And of course, meeting lots of new people.

Before heading to a conference like this, it’s important to think about business cards. Conferences are a mix of educational opportunities and networking, but networking is a waste of time if you don’t make it easy for people to get in touch with you after the conference.
Moo cards is the perfect solution.
Of course, I already have tons of business cards. Including cards that I made just before changing companies. I thought about simply handing out these older cards…since I won’t be networking with real estate agents, it really isn’t so important that my current real estate brokerage is on the cards.
And I’ll still take some of these cards as backups.
But when Janice shared a link with me that gives BlogHer conference attendees get 100 MiniCards for free, I knew I had to order them. For the low cost of $4 for shipping the cards to the conference, I’m getting 100 cards that are perfect for networking at the conference.
Since it is a blogging conference, I wanted to make sure that my real estate blog and my personal blog are listed on my cards (no one outside of my neighborhood association will care about that one).
I also wanted to include my picture and my city to help people remember me. And of course, some basic contact information so people can keep in touch.
Other things like my company name and address simply would clutter up this card and are totally unnecessary.
Here is what I created for my free Moo mini cards:
