Adopt a Rescue Dog: Salem Needs a Home
This beautiful girl with the adorable face is Salem.
She’s a sweet, goofy love bug who has a gorgeous smile and eyes that just make you melt. Salem is a Terrier mix who is about 1 year 9 months old. She’s spayed, current on her shots and microchipped.
This sweetie is house trained and crate trained. She has never had an accident or torn up anything, so she’s always been left to roam free in the house. She loves dogs and gets along great with them. She hasn’t been around cats or kids yet so we’re unsure of how she’ll be with them but she’s very submissive so we think she’d be good with older children.
Salem is all about L.O.V.E.
She would be thrilled if she could spend all day snuggling, being petted, giving kisses, being hugged…any type of affection makes her happy.
This gorgeous girl is outgoing, smart, a quick learner and decent listener. She loves Kongs and is very food motivated, so training her should be fun. She knows how to sit and she has excellent recall. And she’ll run right back to you if you call her name.
Her foster mom taught her a great command. If she shows her a towel when Salem comes in the door with muddy paws, she automatically lays down. She also just learned how to sit pretty for a treat!
Salem loves going for car rides. She does great in the car and is learning to get in on command.
She is a playful girl and so much fun to be around. She goes running through the house, jumps on her foster mom while she is sitting on the couch and then looks at her in surprise, as if she didn’t expect her to be there.
She’s so funny and makes people laugh all the time with her crazy antics. She’s so awesome that even her foster brother fell in love with her, and he doesn’t like anybody, human or canine!
Salem has really good dog energy that other dogs respond to and she’d love being in a forever home with another dog as a playmate. Her new home should also have a fence at least 5 feet high. Since Salem is so submissive, she doesn’t do well with yelling and a lot of noise. We think it will be best for her to live in a home where there won’t be any loud voices or commotion. She needs a calm, happy home so she can continue to be the sweet, silly girl we know and love.
